Driving free targeted visitors to your site using the article marketing technique can be very effective and lucrative. Thousands of savvy marketers are making huge incomes without spending a penny for their advertising. Many of them master the technique by simply composing relevant articles and extrapolating and troubleshooting results accordingly.

However, this technique can be elusive and tricky if it’s not done correctly. I have been trying to find strategies used on several affiliates’ programs but I am yet to conclusively get a grip of the technique. Apparently, part of the problem is not so much marketing articles but having them depict proper keywords where search engine can index them appropriately.

On the outset I knew writing articles to get promotion online was not going to be easy, and reaching for top listings in each major search engine is of course another matter. I never strive to be listed at the top; I want to be listed somewhere where it can be productive. There is a consolation that could bring a light at the end of the tunnel - provided the light is not coming from a high speed runaway train - and that’s persistence. And although I am new at this, I will continue this approach until I find a successful technique or I learn a proper way to make it work from someone else.

To prove my dog that I am a normal and sane person and not a lunatic with split personality I proceeded to ask him the following question: Have I gone nuts trying to write articles yet?

I could not believe his answer until somebody else confirmed the whole thing for me. As it turned out my dog did not know what I was talking about nor did he know what the word nuts meant. He thought nuts were something to eat, I just left it with that and went away.

All kidding aside, writing articles can be a drag at times. Get into it as a fun thing to do, not as a job that must be done. Make time in a way that you can write effectively. Write about things you like to write about, something you know or maybe you are an expert at it. I can write about different subjects but not that many people can do that. Affinity is a great word, so write about subjects that you feel some affinity with. There are some article writing software programs that might help you get into the habit of writing. Use them; they can help you break the ice of reading and writing.

So how can you get yourself up to write articles, stories, poems or even press releases? I say to you do it very carefully; here is what I do, and has worked for me very effectively:

Avoid writing when you are tired, frustrated or angry.
Identify the time of the day or night when you think you are the most creative, that can take a while but it can help you tremendously. Try writing a few things at a time to confirm that indeed your creativity is flowing easily. Expand your writing time and article or story length as you go. Once you feel comfortable with the schedule repeat it as often as you can and develop a habit of doing so. I know many people who have several creative writing schedules.
Treasure and guard your creativity writing time. Your energy flows much easier and faster when you don’t have to fight time schedules, stress or even the biggest enemy of them all, noise.
Try avoiding simple distractions. We live in a world loaded with electronics. And many of us love electronics, but they can be a huge distraction, electronic media comes disguised as a cell phone, radio, TV, and iPods.
Let family and friends know that you are very busy at certain times of the day or night so they can refrain from calling, unless of course there is an emergency.
Avoid delivery people like FedEx, gas or electrical meter readers, and the good old friendly USPS unless they are carrying your checks. They are always making a nuisance of themselves; they love to talk and disrupt that precious and quiet writing time. Leave notes on your door with instructions on what to do with your mail or package.
Keep reminders of subjects you thought about during the day. They can be very helpful when you start to put your article ideas together.
Finally, write, write and write again. Its fun and you can make some money out of it, so enjoy.

Here is a little story about what has been my experience in the Internet, I hope you enjoy:

After several years of relentlessly trying to find that big pot-of-gold in the Internet I finally came to the realization that someone else may have found it already. But knowing that I have failed so miserably hit me like a ton of rocks on top of my head. What a letdown that was!

Meanwhile people that I love and care for were still asking me if I have found the gold yet. To experience that bitter-sweet moment of giving up and then the half-empty feeling of not having anything but guilt was my endless struggle.

Are you going through the same thing too? Well, think long and hard because it can ruin your life and lose the love and respect of those who care for you. Successful Internet marketers are few and far between. They claimed that there are only between 3 - 5% who actually made it in the internet. So what's there for me to do?

At first I could not think of anything to help me walk-away; I tried Relaxation and meditation. Started reading more ebooks by know-it all gurus, I even prayed faithfully or so I thought. Counseling, I was told was a great idea too, I even practiced motivational and self esteem building. But all was in vain, since I just could not find an answer to my thorny and difficult situation.

While all these intriguing actions and practices were taking place, I recall reading about a great man - I thought of Abraham Lincoln, - remember him? He could not win an election even if all his opponents were a bunch of liars and crooks. Perhaps not much different than what we experience today. Alright, I am exaggerating a little, - but just a little - there was a major difference, Abe was a decent and kind man and he had in his heart a passion to help his fellow man. And he had a strong belief that our beloved country could survive if he contributed enough of himself to change it and to motivate others to do the same. And that he did. What a story... ah? Well, now let's get back to my own story, not much to write about but still my own story, just forgive me if you will.

In order to be fairly successful in the internet you need a few things for your website:

• Traffic.

• And more traffic.

And that's as "crystal clear" as I can tell it. Tom Cruise said that in the movie A Few Good Men. Other than what I just described you do not need anything else to be a success in the World Wide Web.

Did you have any fun doing it?

Well, I am delighted I got Link Referrals’ community’ attention; I promise you that you are not here in vain, if anything reading this short true story may give you a chuckle or two, I hope maybe even a good and healthy laugh.

It was a sunny and breezy Saturday morning in a day when the house was all to myself. Nobody was around and most of my chores were almost done. I was on my way to the shower, completely naked, and then heard our hard working mail man dropping our mail off. I waited for him till he finished his work and went away; then carefully I looked through the window, didn’t see a soul and went out the door to get my mail. I had been waiting for a few pieces of mail for a while – just a couple of checks and a load of bills of course –. I do not know what came over me, picking up the mail could have waited until I finished my shower, and was fully clothed. But a driven impulse took over me and that did it. I hopped over towards the mail box and retrieved my mail. As soon as I picked the mail I suddenly got that sinking feeling something was going to happen… and then I heard a loud and clear bam behind me, and something did happen. When I turned around to confirm what had taken place I realized I had neglected to unlock the door and it shut behind me! Oops!

I raised my hands while holding the mail and took a hard look at the door and I said something really nasty; then I turned around looked down the street and I got that sinking feeling again. What am I going to do now? I am completely naked, nobody around and no cell phone to call anyone, and the house doors and windows completely shut for the winter. I started laughing and calling myself names for allowing such stupid incident to take place, and then I came to the realization that regardless what happened, I was in trouble and I needed to do something fast.

What could happen if I knock on my neighbors’ doors without any cloths on, would they laugh or would they call the cops? Should I wait in the backyard completely naked as I was for somebody to come? That could take several hours and I would surely freeze to death I thought. How long would it take for a human being to freeze to death, do you know? Of course I did not know that either. Can I start Walking Naked in the street with one hand in the front and the other in the back without being noticed? If am lucky, maybe a few people will join me – naked of course - and we all walk together as if we have something to complain or celebrate about. I’m sure when they see my smiling face they will think I am up to something and they will definitely want to be part of it too. What could happen if the cops come and see me naked, would they call for back up and reinforcements? Or they may play it safe and call the FBI instead? Can they do that to me?

While all these thoughts are playing out in my head and old friend driving by saw me and shouted from inside his car: “Find the smallest glass in the house and break it so you can get in.” I shout back at him and told him to hush up. He knew exactly what has taking place. He came out of his car with a smirk on his face; "you look very pale" he said. Of course I look pale, I was freezing. We looked around for several minutes and finally decided on a glass out of the basement. We broke it but then realized it was too small and very difficult to reach the floor inside. I was glad that did not work. Can you imagine what a picture would that be with half of my body hanging inside the house and my ass sticking out the broken window?

We were looking for another window-glass to break and suddenly a cop sneaked up behind us. He was very serious and quite surprised to see a clothed man with a wooden stick in his hand and a freezing naked man standing alongside with him. Are you the owner of this house? He asked very firmly and authoritatively! Yes I replied... Can you show me some identification? My friend could not help it but he burst out laughing very loudly. And then he said to the cop pointing at me: “Look at him, he is naked” As if I did not know that I was naked and cold, and to add salt to injury they both started laughing hysterically.

I joined in the fun and we laughed for several minutes but nobody realized that I was really freezing and I needed to get some clothes on right away. The cop called my wife and she said she was on her way in with the house key. He turned around towards his patrol car and told me to follow him to get a blanket and to help him with his paper work. Walking towards the car he took his walkie-talkie and reported the incident to his superiors, apparently, and he started laughing hysterically again. I did not think that was very nice. I just wanted to get some cloths on to get warm and the hell with his fun, his superiors, and the paper work, but I did it anyway!

My neighbors came and looked inside the car and noticed that I was naked and they started to ask questions and to allude that perhaps I have lost it, and that the police had the right idea to lock me up. When my wife came, I ran inside our house with her as fast as I could and the cop hastily ran after me to get his blanket. And of course, that’s all my neighbors needed to see to confirm how justified the cop was to lock me up. Finally, when the whole episode was over, and after a few drinks, my wife came up to me and asked: Did you have any fun doing it? Is that something you do when there’s nobody else in the house? Shame on you! Of course I did not respond to that remark, I had enough for the day already. I simply went back to read Amazon's 100 best sellers.

While taking a computer brake I caught myself glancing at an overcasted fall afternoon sky, and then the word glutton came up in my head quite suddenly. Oh! I thought something remarkable was going on since the broad meaning of the word kept on connecting sentences in my brain. It looked like a power-loaded business presentation showing phrases with bullets and bold letters on a lighted board. And then it disappeared in a similar way it came, quite unexpectedly.

I waited a few seconds and nothing else happened, then I noticed my dog staring at me as if he was saying, hey don’t worry... It happens to me all the time...brilliant moments come and go in my head but after a while I don’t remember a darn thing! That surely did not made feel good at all, especially coming from a dog.

We know the Internet is a never-ending source of information and a decisive motivator for those pursuing frustrated and unaccomplished life dreams. It’s a boundless source of scammers and soulless creeps preying on the naive and money starving marketers. Therefore, shouldn’t we be more careful before we start launching our monies on somebody’s venture? But then and again, we do not need anyone to tell us what to do with our spare time and much less how to spend our money... Do we?

I have finally found a simple, and until a few months ago, an effective way to advertise, free, all my Revenue Sharing referral links. Millions are doing it but I just could not get my mind into it because I felt I was not good enough, and come to think of it, I may not be good enough.

Then I read an article written by Travis Sago and for some odd reason I got it! I started to write articles and website reviews. Wrote my first article and viola!! Once I was able to get all the monkeys off my back, and decided to go ahead and do it, I started writing. Ok so I am still an inadequate writer; with somewhat limited understanding of the English language, after all English is my second language. I can say one thing though, hopefully without offending too many people: I can sure write better than some and with much more humor than most. And you can take that to the bank after you start writing and building some real income using free online advertising for your revenue sharing programs.
